A little bit about us...
Clocs Canton are a North West Morris dance group based in Cardiff, South Wales. We were formed in 1986 and dance North West Morris which is a distinctive type of morris using clogs. We perform at a variety of events - fetes, festivals and in pubs both around Cardiff and further afield.
Our dance kit is in the Welsh colours of red, white and green and we use both garlands and wavers, coloured yellow and green to represent the daffodil and leek.
Clocs Canton comes from Canton - the district of Cardiff in which we practice - together with a Welsh name for the clogs we dance in.
We have a band of musicians who provide our music using fiddles, melodeons, guitar and percussion. New musicians are also very welcome to join us.
Where do we meet?
We practice at The Community Room in Tesco Western Avenue CF14 3AT Thursday. 8-9.30pm Cardiff. Free tea and coffee. Afterwards we usually have a drink in The Cricketers, Cathedral Road.
Want to find out more about dancing?
Please contact us if you are interested in taking part - new dancers, experienced or not, are always welcome! The dances are fairly easy to learn (honest!) and it's also an enjoyable way to keep fit. Why not give it a go - just email for further information or give us a ring.
If you are organising an event we can bring a real touch of colour to it - we love to entertain a crowd and like to involve the audience in our performance. So to discuss bookings please contact us by email or phone.
